NPR Chief gone, not because of liberal bias, but because he stared into the abyss | Partial Objects

In the most forgiving interpretation, Schiller is saying whatever he needs to say in order to get donations…

“This weird kind of Evangelical movement”; “the republican party has been hijacked”; “anti-intellectualism”; “controlling people’s personal lives.” None of those statements would endear him to members of the real Muslim Brotherhood, and yet he is totally unable to see that because, and this should be noted very carefully, he doesn’t have a set of beliefs, he has a set of reactions to others’ beliefs, and he thinks everyone else is the same. His entire intellectual architecture is founded on the maxim, “those guys are idiots”– and so anyone who agrees with that premise must share the rest of his perspective…

It would be easy to criticize him for having a distinctly liberal bias; but he’s revealed himself to have no bias. No clue. He is every bit as anti-intellectual and spineless as, well, everyone else in media.
